Submissions & Ripping
  • What is ripping?:

    • Redistributing another users work - Posting someone else's work somewhere else without with their permission is considered ripping. Even if you post that you give full credit to the original author, you need still his permission. You may only redistribute on Design Sector if you have consent from the author. You must provide a screenshot that the author gave you permission to redistribute.

    • Editing other users work - You have no right to edit another users work without their permission. If you want change something, contact the author. Again, you must provide a screenshot as proof that the author let you edit his/her code.

    • Taking credit - Deliberately removing the author's copyright and inserting in your own is not acceptable. You are not allowed to do this.

    • Removing Copyright - Using something and removing the copyright off of it is considered ripping. If anyone is caught doing so, you are in jeopardy in Design Sector and depending on how serious the matter is, it might be dealt with iPBFREE.

  • What is legal?:

    • Using mods and skins - It is legal to use mods and skins that are provided from sources and authors who authenticate the public to use their stuff. But you may not edit or redistribute the modfication or skin unless you get permission from the author.

Users & Priveledges
  • You are only allowed 1 account. User's caught with more than 1 account will be warned and 1 of your account will close down.

  • Passwords & Protection: You are liable and responsible for your own account and information. Keeping your account information safe is your responsibility and not ours.

  • Impersonation: Impersonating another user is not allowed. Users trying to take the cover of others will be suspended and possibly banned.

  • Backseat Moderation: Backseat moderation is not permitted. Please let our staff do their job and do not go around telling us what to do or what must be done. This may result in suspension and possibly a ban.

  • PM System: You must realize that the PM system is a priveldge. If user's caught tampering with this system, you will be suspended and possibly banned. This includes:

    • Advertising PM's - User's caught advertising their forums in PM's will be automatically banned no questions asked. We sincerely request that you use the Advertisement forum for this purpose and refrain from advertising via PM's.

    • Threats & Scandals - Users caught threatening others via PM or forcing members into scandals will be suspended instantly and possibly banned. Please respect everyone's privacy.

    • PMing Support - Please do not PM staff members for support. We rather prefer that you post them in the forums so other users can refer to them as future reference. Also, please remember to use the search system before PMing or posting.

  • Signatures: Your signatures are limited to 250px high. This is to prevent users to scroll through pages faster. If your signature is out of proportion, it will be removed and a staff member will request you to resize your signature.

  • Avatar file size: You are limited to 250kb when uploading your avatar. This is to prevent pages from loading very slow. Your avatar will be removed if it is causing problems.

PMing Information
  • If a staff member asks for your login information to help you out with a code or skin at your board, it is your choice made at your own risk. Design Sector is not held liable for any damage to your site

  • Why this rule? We don't mind people requesting for help but are tired of people tricking us and blaming problems on us. So now all problems that may come about, DS is not held liable. And there is no use complaining to IPBFree because that has been an joint agreement between us and IPBFree.

  • We do suggest that you don't give your info to anyone else but trusted staff, but it is up to you.

Consequences
  • Explanation: You will be given a chance to explain yourself when you are first found guilty. You MUST use the PM system to contact an Admin and explain yourself

  • IP Ban: If you are suspended, you IP will also be banned. This is assure that members will not register a new account while their account is suspended.

  • In Suspension Contact: During suspension, you are still vial to e-mail an admin if required.

  • Common ground consequences:

    1. First, you will recieve a warn via PM from an Administrator

    2. Second, you will be suspended for 1 week

    3. Third, you will be suspended for 1 month
