I would like you all to know, that Streek Dimes test board, was not hacked, and that the codes were not altered in any way, and slipping virus' into coding it not that easy, and I doubt Spybot has the intention span to even try to, let alone know how to do so (which is a very complicated process). If you have any questions or concerns about this, or might have doubts about your safety on Design Sector, you can contact any of the staff, or myself (outlaw1570@hotmail.com) with your questions. (I do not do live support, only questions concerning Design Sectors safety).

I would also like to say that Spybot is taking the immature route in this, and waging a war against Design Sector, rather then keeping to himself and his Rip board, I would advise if you see that he makes another account, and makes threats, etc, they you disregard it, and report the topic.</p>[/doHTML]

I found out that in his initial post of "Attack One" he had claimed to have hacked the DS Test 2 board, and tampered with the codes, as well as "Might have inserted some Virus'", from what I have heard. Which, of course, he didn't hack the DS Test 2 Board, and their are no Virus'

Anyway, if he were to be DDoSing, we would know it.

Spybot was just caught on the Jcink Support forum for ripping Streek Dime's Registration code.

Jcink caught him red-handed, and shut down the Devine Designs board.

Also what exactly is Ripping??? is it really to difficult to recreate a code without stealing??

I was trying to make one of Streeks code work better on my site(I like messing with code), but he had some very harsh words for rippers.

I ask what exactly is ripping, because I want to know to what extinct is something considered ripping, I mean for instance me editing a code for my personal use, or me editing streeks code and then posting it a my on work, or even editing streeks code, posting it with credit to him...but never given permission to do so. Again I just like messing with/up codes, I'm not a coder so I really don't understand whats the big deal

Ripping is basically using a code and removing it's copyright, or editing the code without asking the original code maker for permission or claiming the code as your own.

Basically what spybot did is took all of my codes and replaced the copyright with his own. That's considered ripping and thats why he's disliked by me and staff. But if you want to continue being a member of his site, go ahead I will not force you to leave.

Considering his main site was just deleted. Doubt that will happen.

Ripping:
Ripping is replacing copyright with your own, claiming you made something when you did not, or editing or modifying without permission.

This can apply to codes, skins, and graphics. Which sadly it happens to all. People who rip are basically people who have nothing better to do in life besides piss other people off, and break copyright infringment laws * in some scenarios *

You can re-create a code without ripping. Such as some of Streek Dime codes have been made by iFusion, but Streek Dime not only made the code smaller, he built it simpler, and it works faster. This is not "ripping" especially since he had nothing to do with the other code, he just built his own.

It is very easy to tell who ripped a code, and who built there own. Even if there are nearly 20 different versions of the code. You can tell who ripped from another person, and who built it themselves.

ok so its copyright infringement, the idea itself can be used, but the what make it unique can not be used.

Normally, when it comes to skins, if there are changes made to it, the maker won't have problems with unless you remove the copyright.

Someone needs to send spybot to jail.

Unluckily for some, it's not possible, however, threats to hack might be an illegal action, though, some wouldn't think about that, and edit posts (TAYLOR) anyway.

Anyway, Streek's Copyright's aren't REAL copyright's, so he can't take legal action really.

actually they are Real Copyrights, copyrights aren't something like a patent that needs to be stamped and signed. Anything you put your blood sweat and tears into is copyrighted. For instance copyrights governing graphics, state that you can not use, edit, modify the image without the consent of the copyright owner. For isntance I and know some of us has done this, taken a image and changed the color, thats copyright infringement, unless given premission to do so.

Streek codes and skins are like a book, he wrote it, and he can prove he was the first to make it, then he would have a case.

But really I think it would be a real pain, so just let him go about his way, ban his IP address, and create even better skins and mods that surpass the current ones he stole.
