I have been receiving PM's and IM's with people asking me when the Staff Applications will be up; well, all I have come up with a decision, I will not be opening up a staff application form. I realize that there are times when users will sign up for staff, get the position and just never become active anymore or just get out off hand.

I have decided that now new staff members will be decided solely on performance of users and decision of current staff members. Basically, just be active, show effort and interest, etc.

I know some will argue that I had posted that I will release a newer version of the staff application, but I realized that staff applications get out of hand and I prefer this new system.

If you have worked really hard and shown activity, interest and effort, trust me, you have a chance of becoming staff especially since we are looking for new staff members.

We are currently still looking for the following:
  • Skinning Staff
  • Coding Staff
  • New! Graphics Staff
  • New! Ripper Interrogation Staff
  • Global Moderator
It is pretty obvious what you require to gett a position. If you are a good/decent skinner, just post your skins and eventually, we will get to you if we think you are good enough. You do not have to be great. I will agree that I myself am not such a great of a skinner either especially since this is my first time so if you're mediocre, you have a good chance. Same goes for any other team that you want to join.

So just don't worry. If you have what it takes to be a part of DS Staff (which isn't much atm), then just prove yourself. That's all to it.

These are a couple things we look for..
Skinning Staff
- Have a couple of good skins in the skin gallery/member skin section.
- Have decent knowledge of skinning and has been able to support members with skinning questions
- Taking up conversion or regular skin requests
- Regular active member

Coding Staff
- Have a couple of good mods in the mod index.
- Have decent knowledge of coding and has been able to support members with coding questions
- Taking up regular mod requests
- Regular active member

Graphics Staff
- Have a couple of good graphics in the graphics showoff or gallery.
- Good designer and well experienced.
- Takes up requests
- Starts graphics discussions and keeps that section active
- Regular active member

Ripper Interrogation Staff
- Found atleast 5 rippers or users that violate iPBFREE TOS and DS TOS.
- Good background knowledge of forums, skinning, documentation, modifications, copyright rules and policies, ripper definition, etc.
- Very concious
- Regular active member.

Global Moderator
- Extremely active member
- Posted lot of suggestions and helped out
- Good knowledge of forums, ipbfree, coding, skinning, documentation, modifications, etc.
- Understands Mod CP and Admin CP efficiently
- Etc, etc, etc ...

Cool, I wouldn't mind being a coding/skinning staff but since I'm a Global I don't need to be. What about adminship? Is that cut off with you and kasam?
ash234
Ripper interogation sounds cool. And admin possitions should be earned and never ever applied for.
Sufyan

I know. I didn't pick Kasam based on an application. I had actually contacted him via PM on iPBFREE because I loved his performance, enthusiam to help, knowledge of iPBFREE boards and the way he expresses himself when he explained things.

Well I actually realized that I don't really need that much help with adminship. I mean so far I have been able to manage the board myself very well according to my opinion. I can tell that Kasam is getting busy with real-life and also now he has a bigger responsibility at iPBFREE, so I don't know but I might consider another admin in the future, but for now I am fine smile.gif

Well apparently and unfortunately, I have already found over 8 rippers. You probably know of the only one that I accidently made a fuss about at the iPBFREE Support Forums; I mean it wasn't much of an effort to find those 8 so I can get a hand with that, that would be helpful.

Streek Dime
^Lol re-read the announcement CCJ. I am not accepting staff by applications. It will now be judged by their work and activity.
Streek Dime

would you like me to copy that and make a new topic?

Since I'm a GMod, am I basicly everything then besides admin? Like skinning and coding?
Streek Dime
Yeah basically .. but its not need to copy it all.
GAME OVER
Yeah basicly to the part of skinning and coding? So, you want that post copied, if you do you can do it then XD

That post made no sense streek.
Streek Dime
You can basically do anything since you are g-mod which includes skinning and coding. And no, you don't need to copy the requirements and make a new topic from it.

Lol yeah sorry for confusion.
GAME OVER
*whew* ok good.

On some previously visited sites, to becdome staff, you also had to have pretty good grammar. Don't see why it's such a big deal, we do have the edit option.....
Streek Dime
Well it does look good if your staff can express themselves well. I am not the greatest english student alive but I think I do a decent job. It always looks good if you can express yourself well.
ShockBoy
I hate grammar, I think i'm pretty go at it, i won't bother capitalizing much. I don't think it's a huge requirment, but like u said SD, expression through grammar is good.

Who takes care of the General Conversation Area, so making sure nobody gives out anything to personal, so that sexual abusers don't come to your house, and well, you get it, is that a Global Moderator's duty?
